Day 3: Social Media Detox
I’ll be the first to admit that I was always glued to my phone.
As a business owner, the idea of always having to be “on” and accessible often meant getting pulled away replying to an email when the fam sat down for dinner.
I am STILL guilty of this.
BUT setting aside one hour a day that is spent unplugged has been a huge help in creating time for myself.
With that hour I can:
Listen to music
Cuddle with my main squeeze
Spend some solo time enjoying my own company
Focus on some personal self care
Think about this:
As you scroll through Instagram, your brain is responding to every image you see. Whether it be happy, sad, envious, angry, you name it, you are having an emotional response with each passing scroll.
Whether you intend to or not, you are reacting to each and every image.
That is a lot to absorb on a daily basis.
You may find that you begin to compare your day to that of another. You compare your life to the perfectly posed and carefully styled highlight reel of someone else’s life.
That’s fucking exhausting.
Day 3 Challenge: Ditch The Digital Homework
Take your phone and lock it up. Turn off the computer. Log out of social media accounts.
Do whatever you need to do to keep one hour of your day to yourself and your priorities.
