Like many of our clients, Miss M had been in our Facebook Group, the Babe Cave, for YEARS before deciding to travel to Virginia and have her very own boudoir photoshoot!
She is one of the few people who have known me for a couple of decades!!! We went to high school together in California and kept in touch through social media over the years.
As time went, we both found ourselves along a similar path. We were young and found partners that did not treat us with loving respect and kindness. We internalized these harmful words and wore them like chains, limiting us from our potential.
Then we made shifts. We found our sense of self worth. We made changes and set boundaries and left some people along the way. We found support and love that elevated us.
But those negative thoughts still crept in.
Miss M started posting in our Facebook Community about how she was working to shift her mindset.
She started posting because she saw a trend online of girls talking positively about themselves with the perspective that “hot girls are hot because they know they’re hot” and she wanted to feel like a hot girl by the end of the 30 day challenge.
She began posting daily with nice things to say about herself. In her second post she wore a hot pink shirt because of the positive feedback about how good she looked in it from many members in the Babe Cave!
In her videos she spent time talking kindly about her body and tried to turn any “negatives” into positives and it was beautiful to witness her help shift her perspective of herself and watch her get loved on by the other women in the group in the process. Through the process she acknowledged the struggle to keep up with it and even shared the days in which she stumbled.
She decided to travel to our Virginia Boudoir Studio for an immersive experience to reframe her self confidence.
We caught up with her a year after her session to see how the experience stuck with her.
You had been talking about having a session several years before you finally took the plunge. What was the moment that made you realize NOW was the time?
Honestly, I was in a really bad mental space and had truly lost my identity outside of being a mom/homemaker and I wanted to find myself again. We were in a spot not only financially to make it happen but also I realized that mentally I needed something BIG in my life to help me pull out of my slump and going to see LeZandra was the ONLY thing I wanted.
What made you decide to travel to have your session here instead of finding someone local to you?
I knew LeZandra in high school and after seeing all the wonderful images and raving reviews, I knew I wouldn’t find someone who had what she has local to me. I wanted the BEST and she was it in my book
Did you have any nerves or worries heading into your experience?
Yes lol. I am a very awkward person and so I was anxious because it’s just my nature. I worried I wouldn’t look good or that I’d get here and then been too scared to go all out.
How did you feel during your session?
I felt AMAZING! I was a little stiff and nervous in the beginning but LeZandra helped ease that up. She would show me the poses and made it super easy to follow her instructions. I was able to relax and just enjoy feeling sexy and free. I left the session with so much extra pep in my step that day.
When you saw your images, what was the first thought you had?
HOLY FUCK, THATS ME?!?
Now that you have made these life transformations, how has your experience inspired your confidence?
It truly did wonders for me. This was so much more than a photo shoot. It was desperately needed to pull myself out of a very dark space in my life. I spent so much time hating how I looked and just let myself become “frumpy” and after my session, I have embraced all my “flaws” and was able to see a whole new me and I ran with it. I give myself grace and time to make myself up. I don’t hide my body anymore, I wore crop tops and a Bikini this summer which I have NEVER done. I’ve been more bold with my husband than I ever have before. People on the outside have noticed the boost too.
How often do you look at your images?
At LEAST once a week.
Do you feel your confidence carried into other aspects of your life?
1000% yes.
What would you have to say to another woman going through a life transition that may be on the fence about how a boudoir experience could help them?
All I can say is DO IT! I know some people look a this and just see photos but the experience, the comfort that LeZandra brings, the reveal…every aspect had such HUGE positive impacts and its worth it 10 times over
Is there anything else we didn’t cover above that you would love to share with us about your experience now that it’s a year behind you?
Just a HUGE thank you to LeZandra. This experience truly changed my life. For the better. I lost myself and she really helped me find myself again. I can’t wait till I’m able to save up for my next shoot.
A boudoir experience can be SUCH a therapeutic way to reframe how you see yourself. I am so proud of Miss M for choosing to do something so vulnerable and confront her insecurities head on. We gain confidence and strength when we work to shin light on the parts of us that we would normally seek to hide. By owning ourselves fully we allow ourselves to be loved for who we truly are.
