You can’t have rainbows without a little rain 🥰🥰🥰

Our first session of the year was in Hawaii, the island that I started this little business on nearly 14 years ago.

This Norfolk Boudoir Photographer escaped the cold and headed to Oahu, Hawaii to photograph boudoir on the Oahu Beaches.

There’s something about Hawaii that just calls me home.

I first moved here when I was 17 to start college and join that military wife life. It was here that I really became an adult. It was here that I started my business.

As a second generation military brat, I’ve had the privilege of living in many different parts of the country and being exposed to many cultures.

Hawaii was the only place where I ever felt like I belonged. I could exist here so comfortably in my soul 🥰

The Navy took us to Virginia. Otherwise I probably would have never left. When I got divorced, I said goodbye to the idea of ever living here again. While I have photographed boudoir sessions on the beaches of Virginia Beach, they just don’t compare to Oahu.

Going to Maui in May to teach was a mental shift. Being able to be back in the islands that grew me, this time to teach others, was a full circle moment.

Maybe this camera can take me home? Maybe this little business CAN create the life of my dreams.

Life really is what we create it to be. If I could build this life for myself with a camera at 19, who knows what else could happen???

In 2024, I was honored to start my year off at the place my heart calls home.

I had the absolute pleasure of photographing my old assistant, @kyeradalesandro, and it truly was the most magnificent reunion!!!

It had been POURING just before we met at the beach and I was stressing 😂

I forgot just how much the sky will open up and rain down on the island just to be bright and sunny five minutes later.

I am so thankful for the rainy weather and the gorgeous backdrop that Mother Nature provided 🥰

I’m coming back to Hawaii again this year to shoot on these beaches.
