Eight years ago he walked me to my front porch.

It was dark out and we were surrounded by stars.

For the past few weeks we had spent every minute we could together.

The night I met him I could not stop thinking about how amazing this man was.

He held me close and as his lips touched mine.

I was sure that that feeling was what love felt like.

Eight years ago today I had my first kiss.

And eight years later, I am married to the man that captured my heart.

If you would have asked me if I would marry my first kiss back then, when I was just 13, I would have most likely said yes.

What can I say?

I have always been so infatuated with the man I now call my husband.

Through years in a long distance relationship, to living in tiny homes in Hawaii with no money,  surviving a deployment, and buying a house we have been held together by a bond that endures even the strongest and toughest times.

These past eight years have been filled with many ups and downs.

But I am looking forward to the many ups yet to come.

 So to Kev I say this: I love you with a flaming passion that will not ever dwindle.
