I’ve photographed thousands of people in my Norfolk boudoir studio, and some of the most powerful images?
Came from the simplest outfits.
Because it’s not about how much you bring.
It’s about how it feels on your body.
Start With What Makes You Feel Something
Not what you think you should wear.
What actually makes you feel:
- powerful
- soft
- dominant
- playful
- sensual
That could be lace.
Or it could be an oversized band tee and nothing else.
This is about expression, not rules.
Personally, I have found that some of my favorite images of myself have been from cut-up t-shirts. I have also LOVED the way a full five-piece set makes me look like a delicious treat waiting to be unwrapped, piece by piece.
Intention is everything. We can make a sheet look sensual with the right energy. This is where YOU get to showcase your own personal desires.
What Photographs Best
There are a few things that consistently photograph beautifully:
Texture
Lace, mesh, leather, silk…
These catch light and add depth to your images.
Contrast
Light on dark. Dark on skin. Skin on sheets.
Contrast creates visual impact without needing anything complicated.
Fit (Not Size)
This matters more than anything.
Something that fits your body as it is right now will always photograph better than something you’re trying to “fit into.”
My Go-To Outfit Ideas
If you’re not sure where to start, here are a few staples:
- A matching lingerie set
- A bodysuit
- An oversized button-down
- A leather jacket
- A sheet (yes, just a sheet)
- Nothing at all but confidence and good lighting
What About Shoes + Accessories?
Bring them.
Heels, boots, jewelry, chokers…
These little details elevate your look and help you drop into a specific energy.
