I hear it all too often, “BUT WHAT DO I WEAR?!”. To me, it’s less about what you wear and more about what you feel. That’s why you’re here, right? To be empowered, alter your self-perception, take care of yourself, honor your desires, and bring back to life a light that has been dimming for far too long.

5 Tips on What to Wear to a Boudoir Shoot

Tip number 1: Find things that suit your body and personality.

Some things are going to speak to you and some just aren’t. Listen to them! Listen to yourself! We, all too often, put our needs and desires on the back burner and that is NOT what we are going to do in a boudoir session. You are here to look inward. Trust yourself and allow yourself the grace to explore what you, deep down, know you want.

Personally, I feel most confident in a band tee and a pair of combat boots. Or my favorite leather jacket! Boudoir doesn’t have to be lingerie. Wear what brings out the most authentic, badass version of sexy that YOU can imagine.

Tip number 2: Keep it simple.

I can “dress it up” once you get here. If you even need it, that is. I want you to feel comfortable, not overwhelmed, especially if this is your first time doing boudoir, so I say the simpler the better. Once you get here and get going, you get a feel for things and I can get a read on your vibes, and we can go from there!

We can bring in accessories, such as our Honey Birdette Bondage Collar or other BDSM gear to bring instant spice and class to any outfit! Our studio is stocked with harnesses and body chains to accessories for any outfit!

Tip number 3: Bring some staples.

The shoes that make you feel sexy, the bra that empowers you, your go-to undies you know your partner L O V E S – that’s what you for sure need to bring! The things that scream Y O U are what you must get to this session.

Tip number 4: Layers.

Put it on + then take it off, yes ma’am! Layering even just the tiniest amount, like a sheer robe over an intricately laced bodysuit, adds texture, dimension, and mystery. It allows you to give as much, or as little, as you want. Plus, it gives you something to move as we take photos! That will allow you one, something to do, and two, movement in the photos. A win-win!

Tip number 5: Take this as an opportunity to refresh the lingerie drawer.

Buy a lil’ honey!⁠ Get out and explore. Buy something you’ve always wanted to try, but never had the guts (or a reason) to. Toss those old lingerie pieces that needed to go a long time ago and grab some newbies. You won’t regret it! Plus, if you bring something new to this shoot and your partner sees the photo, I know they’ll be wanting to see it again….
