We caught up with this gorgeous couple one year after their couples experience to see just how much the experience changed them.⁠⁠

 

What was the moment that made you realize now was the right time to have a couples boudoir session?

I turned 40, my oldest two children had recently graduated, I’m not exactly sure when we decided, but I knew that I wanted to capture the moment. Feeling free, feeling positive about my body after some weight loss and toning. I felt sexy and we wanted to have these pictures to look back on as we grow older. The energy, confidence and self worth I have gained the last few years basically catapulted an interest and I asked a our photographer during a family session if she knew of any Boudoir Photographers in the area and she pointed me to whom she had a session with!!! LeZandra! 

How were you feeling ahead of the session?

My husband and I had planned our entire weekend around our session and our anniversary. I woke up that morning full of so many emotions. I was excited and anxious. Having my husband there for the experience made it so much more comfortable and his calmness was so reassuring.

 

How did you feel during your session?

At first I/we felt a little uncomfortable. Positioning and repositioning and laughing away the uncomfortableness. I had always been comfortable in my own bedroom, but this was wild being photographed while half naked. 😆 Within the first 15 minutes I forgot we were even there. We were in our own world, like a being pulled away in some fantasy dreamland. Everything felt so natural and every time I closed my eyes I forgot where I was. I was so emersed in the moment. Towards the end we just wanted to keep going. I didn’t want it to end!

 

What did you do the night after your session?

We went straight to the beach, checked into our room, and celebrated our anniversary. All the feels from the day followed us into the night. Best couples date ever!!!

 

When you saw your images, what was the first thought you had?

I cried instantly. I couldn’t believe it was me. I’ve never looked at myself like that with such aw. Seeing the connection and passion of my husband and I through these photos was overwhelming and so emotional.

 

 

How do you feel like your session changed your relationship?

It opened us up to doing more for us. We spend so much time taking care of those around us we don’t take time for the two of us to connect like we did in those pictures. Currently looking for a camper for all the adventures together!!!

 

How often do you look at your images?

Pretty often! 😘

 

What would you say to another couple who is on the fence about having a couples boudoir session?

Don’t wait till it’s to late!!! Capture the moment, that feeling, that energy. We walked away with the biggest smiles and a fresh dose of confidence. The passion seen through the eye of the lens is something I’ll always cherish!
